Speaker B:

Welcome to the Other side of the Page, a bookish podcast where we yep about the books we love and the.

Speaker A:

Songs that give us main character energy.

Speaker B:

We are here to sift through the chaos that is our TBR and to.

Speaker A:

Let you know why a book might just be your next favorite read.

Speaker B:

I'm Britt, dramatic plot twist lover and champion for MMCs needing to be more pathetic and down bad.

Speaker A:

And I'm Hannah, reader of at least five books at once in a detailed fantasy map enthusiast.

Speaker B:

Every Wednesday press play on a brand new bookish episode.

Speaker A:

Stay up to date with the books we will be covering by following us on social media side of the page, Pod, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and threads.

Speaker B:

And don't forget to follow, rate and review the podcast.

Speaker B:

A shining five stars on your preferred platform because it helps us so much with visibility.

Speaker A:

This week we have another Blank Space episode and we're going to be listing out the books coming out next year that we cannot wait for.

Speaker B:

ing over the heavy hitters of:

Speaker A:

So we will not be going over long synopsis or trigger warnings for these books.

Speaker A:

So please check those out before you pick up or pre order any if you want more info.

Speaker B:

Yes, so we did not, we surely did not organize this in any way, shape or form.

Speaker B:

The only section we have organized is a Friends of the Pod section for authors that we've interviewed that we know for certain have books coming out next year.

Speaker B:

So yeah, that's fine.

Speaker A:

Kick it off, Britt.

Speaker A:

What do we got first?

Speaker B:

All right, we're just gonna go down this list again.

Speaker B:

We're all, you know, all vibes, no thoughts.

Speaker B:

And we're going to kick things off with and now back to you by BK Morrison.

Speaker B:

And I'm so excited for this one.

Speaker A:

Wait.

Speaker B:

I cannot wait.

Speaker A:

If you have not read first time caller, read that while you are waiting for this book to come out because.

Speaker B:

This is one that I will say we we have on our coverage radar as well.

Speaker B:

We're very likely going to be covering this one in the new year with a special episode.

Speaker B:

Yes.

Speaker A:

And one that I actually have the elk of that I'm excited to kind of dive into is My Husband's Wife by Alice Feeney.

Speaker B:

I'm excited for that one.

Speaker B:

And then we have another.

Speaker B:

A repeat author.

Speaker B:

I've never read anything else by her.

Speaker B:

I don't remember if First Lie Wins was her debut, but Anatomy of an Alibi by Ashley Elston is coming out and I'm really interested to see how she weaves together another book.

Speaker B:

Yes.

Speaker A:

Then we also have what Boys Learn by Andromeda Romano Lacks.

Speaker B:

And then we have Our Perfect Storm by Carly Fortune.

Speaker B:

I do plan on tackling them in:

Speaker A:

And loved Murder Road by Simone St. James.

Speaker A:

And she's coming out with a new book, A Box Full of Darkness, which sign me up.

Speaker B:

Sold.

Speaker B:

Cannot wait.

Speaker B:

This one I am dying for.

Speaker B:

And I know Hannah will love it once we get there, but In Her Own league by Liz Tom, 40 Monty and Rhys.

Speaker B:

I cannot wait.

Speaker B:

This is a spin off, like a.

Speaker B:

A separate spin off from the Windy City series.

Speaker B:

Oh, I can't wait.

Speaker A:

And I'm really excited for the Nave and the Moon by Rachel Gillig.

Speaker A:

I just loved the Night in the Moth and cannot wait for that to continue there.

Speaker B:

Yes.

Speaker B:

And then we have Game on by Nevesa Allen.

Speaker B:

She did Lights out and Caught Up.

Speaker B:

Loved Lights Out.

Speaker B:

And I'm really excited to see what Game on has in store.

Speaker A:

And and then we have how to Kill a guy in 10 dates by Shaylee Thompson.

Speaker A:

I mean, need I say more than just that title?

Speaker A:

The title is I say more.

Speaker B:

It's so good.

Speaker B:

And then this one is.

Speaker B:

ree most anticipated reads of:

Speaker B:

And that is the Caretaker by Marcus Cleaver.

Speaker B:

Which if you don't.

Speaker B:

If you don't listen to the pod regularly and you haven't, like listened to our older stuff, this might be a surprise to you.

Speaker B:

If you know, you frickin know.

Speaker B:

We are so excited for this book.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

And then we have a killer kind of romance by Letsia Lizzia Lorni.

Speaker B:

I think so.

Speaker B:

I'm not sure.

Speaker B:

But I believe, if I'm not mistaken, because the vibes are the same.

Speaker B:

They use the same cover designer that Mallory Marlo uses.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker B:

And it looks so cute and interesting and I'm very excited for that.

Speaker B:

Um, and then we have another one, no Matter what by Cara Bastone.

Speaker B:

And after Promise Be Sunshine.

Speaker B:

I mean, please, Cara, show me with your beautiful work.

Speaker A:

Then we have Last First Kiss by Julian Winters.

Speaker B:

That one looks adorable, I believe.

Speaker B:

Bipoc author.

Speaker B:

Mm, Romance.

Speaker B:

It looks.

Speaker B:

And also Last First Kiss.

Speaker A:

Like, it's such a cute name.

Speaker B:

I love it.

Speaker B:

And we have every version of youf by Natalie Messier.

Speaker B:

I've seen a lot of early ARC reviews of it that sound very Promising.

Speaker A:

We have Cross yous Heart and Hope he Dies by Jenny Elder Mok.

Speaker A:

I mean, just these titles next year are just selling me so good.

Speaker B:

Then we have across the Vanishing sky by Katherine Cowles, who seems to be the unrequited queen of romantic suspense, which.

Speaker A:

We need to read more of for sure.

Speaker B:

Yes.

Speaker A:

And then we have Score by Kennedy Ryan, which I am excited to read more of hers.

Speaker B:

And we have how to write a Love Story by Katherine Walsh.

Speaker B:

And I have not read.

Speaker B:

I don't believe either of us have read anything by her, but I saw her stuff recommended by Tara DeWitt it and anything Tara says is amazing.

Speaker B:

I will go by.

Speaker B:

But then I started following Catherine Walsh and I believe she might be one of the funniest people in existence.

Speaker B:

So I must read her work next year.

Speaker A:

Cannot wait.

Speaker B:

Excuse me.

Speaker A:

Then we have the story might save your life by Tiffany Crumb, which again, these titles are just.

Speaker B:

I know, good.

Speaker B:

I know.

Speaker B:

We have Love Another Brain Experiments by Hannah Brome, which is a stem romance, I'm pretty sure, or academic stem cell situation.

Speaker A:

Yeah, yeah.

Speaker A:

And then on Sunday she picked Flowers by Yaya Schofield.

Speaker A:

Schofield.

Speaker B:

Maybe Scofield.

Speaker B:

I feel like Scofield.

Speaker B:

Sounds.

Speaker B:

Yeah, yeah.

Speaker A:

Scofield, yeah.

Speaker B:

Then we have it's not her by Mary Kubika.

Speaker B:

Local Woman Missing was one of the earliest books that we covered together on a podcast.

Speaker B:

So excited for this new release.

Speaker A:

And then we have A Dearly Departed by Chip Pons.

Speaker A:

We both loved Winging it with you that came out this year.

Speaker A:

And this one sounds so fun.

Speaker B:

I know I have to throw.

Speaker B:

I just remembered that one.

Speaker B:

Then we have We Call Them Witches.

Speaker A:

By India Rose Bauer and Playing for Keeps by Alexandria Belfler.

Speaker B:

And then we have the Sunday Garden by Ashley Poston, which was just announced I think like a week ago upon this recording.

Speaker B:

Not even exciting.

Speaker A:

And then we have the Summer Girlfriend.

Speaker A:

The Summer Girlfriend by Christina Forest.

Speaker B:

And then it's all in your head by Sabita Nordquist.

Speaker A:

Love Beyond Reasonable Doubt by Swati Hedge.

Speaker B:

And we have the Redo List by Denise Williams.

Speaker B:

I love Denise Williams.

Speaker B:

Is like a standard of plus size rep for me.

Speaker B:

Her books are always so fun.

Speaker B:

I love them.

Speaker A:

Then we have the Bridge back to you by Rhys M. Nielsen.

Speaker B:

The COVID of this one, you guys, if you have not seen the COVID of this, it is stunning.

Speaker B:

And then we have Harvest Season by Brynn Weaver, which is the second in the car.

Speaker B:

I think it's the.

Speaker B:

Oh, my God, I can't remember the name of the trilogy now.

Speaker B:

It's gonna kill me.

Speaker B:

Seasons of Carnage.

Speaker B:

It's the Seasons of Carnage trilogy.

Speaker B:

It's book two.

Speaker B:

And unlike the Ruinous Love trilogy, all three books follow the same couple in this one, so.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

And then we have A Grim Tidings by BK Morrison.

Speaker A:

So follow up after Good Spirits.

Speaker A:

Yep.

Speaker B:

And then we have yes Chef by Grace Riley.

Speaker B:

Love it.

Speaker A:

And then we have the Ballad of Falling Dragons by Sarah A. Parker, which I'm gonna have to reread the first.

Speaker B:

One when the Moon Hatched, Right.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Because so much happened in that book that I probably need to refresh myself.

Speaker B:

I'm gonna be honest.

Speaker B:

I think that might be, like, for where my brain space is right now.

Speaker B:

I think it's too dense of a fantasy for me to consume, and that's okay.

Speaker B:

And it's heavy.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

And I feel like when my brain starts, like, vibing with fantasy in that way again, I'll be all in, 100%.

Speaker B:

But then we have second first dates by Gabriella Gamez.

Speaker A:

And then we have the book Witch by Meg Shafer, which I'm excited to read more of hers too.

Speaker B:

Yes.

Speaker B:

And then we have Big Girl Blitz by Danielle Allen, another author who does plus size rep so well.

Speaker A:

And that's really our shortlist because I feel like we discover so many more books.

Speaker B:

Yes.

Speaker A:

As the year goes.

Speaker A:

So we'll do a check in next year and give you an update on more books that are released and the exact dates and when to pre order.

Speaker A:

But some of these do come out in, like, January, February, so keep your.

Speaker B:

Eye out for those.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker B:

And then we have our friends at the POD section.

Speaker B:

Just a few books here that we've either interviewed them or one we're just like fan girls of forever and always.

Speaker B:

So the first one is the Night We Met by Abby Jimenez, and you can find us absolutely simping in her Facebook group to try and get an advanced reader copy through her traveling arc program.

Speaker B:

If you guys love Abby Jimenez and you're not in her reader group, you are doing something wrong because they have a traveling arc program, like it's been reported on.

Speaker B:

There are seven, I believe, advanced reader copies that travel from state to state, and they host contests in the Facebook group.

Speaker B:

And there are, like, wild card ones that can go to any state.

Speaker B:

There's one only for Canada.

Speaker B:

There's one for Minnesota only.

Speaker B:

Because all of Abby's books are based in Minnesota, and you can find us on every single one of the posts we're eligible for.

Speaker B:

Testing our luck to try and get this book.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

I Know I was lucky enough to get one.

Speaker A:

Well, not through the traveling arc, but, like, she does, like, a special netgalley drop, too.

Speaker B:

Yes.

Speaker A:

Because I got one last year.

Speaker B:

You got.

Speaker B:

You got.

Speaker A:

Just for the summer.

Speaker B:

I got just for the summer.

Speaker A:

So it's your turn to get the night we met Cannot Wait.

Speaker A:

And then our.

Speaker A:

The queen, our lord and savior, Tara DeWitt is releasing Lost and Found, which I cannot wait for.

Speaker A:

Cannot wait for Left of Forever wrecked me, and I feel like this is gonna do the same.

Speaker B:

Yes.

Speaker B:

And I've.

Speaker B:

I know people that have already read it because they are beta readers for Tara.

Speaker B:

And, like, the arcs are gonna start dropping soon.

Speaker B:

And I've never been so happy and displeased with people in my entire life.

Speaker B:

Them watching them update about their reading with Lost and Found.

Speaker B:

And I will say a fair warning, this does have pregnancy in it, but it is not accidental.

Speaker B:

It is very much intentional.

Speaker B:

And I did hear Tara say that the, like, the sperm donor through, like, IVF is actually not the male love interest.

Speaker B:

So, like, it is completely a separate entity from the pregnancy taking place.

Speaker B:

So I'm just throwing that out there now before anyone comes for my girl.

Speaker B:

Okay.

Speaker B:

I'll defend Tara until the wolves come home.

Speaker B:

Okay.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker B:

And then.

Speaker B:

Oh, I am so excited for this book.

Speaker B:

So Entities to Lovers by Mallory Marlowe comes out and, oh, you guys know love and other conspiracies.

Speaker B:

Love at first sighting.

Speaker B:

We've chatted with her twice.

Speaker B:

We simply cannot wait.

Speaker B:

It's.

Speaker B:

It's going to be a blast.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

And then a new author to us this year, which we are obsessed with her, not only her writing, but her as a person.

Speaker B:

Yes.

Speaker A:

Is Sunflower Season by Danic Canava.

Speaker B:

I can't wait.

Speaker B:

And then the last one, who is the most recent author that we've interviewed on the pod, we have Married With Benefits by Ellie Palmer.

Speaker B:

And I just know that that's going to be such a fun.

Speaker B:

Such a fun rom com.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

Kaylee doesn't have anything coming out next year.

Speaker B:

Oh, there's going to be.

Speaker B:

There was, like, a preemptive book release schedule for Kaylee Smith that I do know about because we've also interviewed Kaylee twice and we are obsessed with Phantasma and Enchantra.

Speaker B:

But I believe that they've shifted her schedule and there hasn't been a formal announcement.

Speaker B:

So if you're waiting for it, definitely check her Instagram because she absolutely will post when that announcement comes through.

Speaker B:

But I believe that they've shifted some of the dates because Wicked Games 3 was supposed to come out this year after Enchantra, which that would have been clinically insane for her to release.

Speaker B:

Enchantra.

Speaker B:

Yeah, the ending to her YA fantasy series plus Wicked Games 3.

Speaker B:

And I know she's drafting the other.

Speaker B:

I think it's a trilogy on top of it with Cressida and Gideon.

Speaker B:

This like angel demon situation.

Speaker B:

So either way, she's booked and busy and we will read whatever she comes out with whenever she comes out with it.

Speaker B:

And we will surely update once we find out.

Speaker A:

Yes, and I'm dying for Wit's new book too.

Speaker A:

Yes, I loved going back and reading about the character in book three, and I can't wait for this next one.

Speaker B:

Well, yeah, because she left us with the most emotionally devastating cliffhanger in book two.

Speaker B:

Wit, if you're listening to this.

Speaker A:

Yep.

Speaker B:

Excuse you.

Speaker A:

Never forgive you.

Speaker B:

Never forgive you.

Speaker B:

That's.

Speaker B:

That's pretty much all that we have right now, right?

Speaker B:

Yes.

Speaker B:

Yeah.
